In the early 1970's, BABCO found the ability to expand into new markets and larger projects. Senior care, nursing homes and larger commercial buildings were added to the ever expanding list of BABCO specialties. This period was also marked by the ability to build projects outside of Chicago, as BABCO followed its retail customers nationwide.

The late 1970's and early 1980's added new markets and overall company growth. Major hotel renovations, large commercial and residential renovations, and government funded projects characterized this period.

Company growth demanded greater efficiency, technology, and innovation. Estimating, accounting, and management systems were modernized and computerized. The company moved its headquarters to Evanston, Illinois. BABCO's customer base was typified by Hyatt Corp., Tiffany & Co., Burberry, and other well known hotel and retail companies. BABCO was also building big box retail for Pace Membership Warehouse Company. Seventeen sites were built in various locations across the United States.

Higher profile projects and customers defined the late 1980's and early 1990's. Hilton, Bally's, Hampton Inn, and Westin Hotels were among the may satisfied hotel clients. BABCO also ventured into more complex and difficult projects such as Harpo Studios for Oprah Winfey, The Berto Training Center for the World Champion Chicago Bulls, and international headquarters for Playboy and stores for Crate and Barrel.

As BABCO Construction, Inc., continues to write its history, markets are changing, demands have increased and technological innovations have allowed for greater efficiency. Our mission has not changed. We are committed to excellence in building construction.
