Back to In the Press Main BABCO CONSTRUCTION COMPLETES 65,000 SQUARE FOOT OTTER CREEK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (Elgin, Illinois) - Lawrence H. Goldman, President of BABCO Construction, Inc. is pleased to announce that the firm has completed construction of Otter Creek Elementary School in District U46. The new elementary school is located at 2701 Hopps Road in Elgin, Illinois. The 65,000 square foot new construction project commenced in June of 2001 and was completed two months ahead of schedule and under budget. The new two-story, masonry bearing structural steel building features brick construction, a curtain wall and aluminum windows. Otter Creek was designed to accommodate 650 area students. BABCO Construction was selected as the general contractor by School District U46 and Dahlquist & Lutzow Architects provided architectural services for the project. Scott Stalcup, Senior Project Manager oversaw the construction team for BABCO Construction. Marl Solner of BABCO Construction was the superintendent of the project.
