Back to In the Press Main BABCO CONSTRUCTION, INC. COMPLETES RENOVATIONS FOR HERMES OF PARIS IN CHICAGO CHICAGO ? Lawrence H. Goldman, President of BABCO Construction, Inc. is pleased to announce that the firm has completed renovations for Hermes of Paris store in downtown Chicago, Illinois. The luxury retail store is located at 110 East Oak Street within the Oak Street Shopping District of Chicago?s Goldcoast. Hermes of Paris, famous for their exquisite lines of silk and leather, first contacted BABCO Construction in 1990 to rebuild the structure and fa?ade for the store?s Oak Street location. In need of renovations this past year, Hermes again selected BABCO as the general contractor for the project. The renovations included interior construction with French limestone, brass, mahogany and sophisticated plastering systems. To accommodate Hermes? budget and schedule requirements, BABCO worked closely with the retailer as well as French based suppliers and fabricators. In addition, BABCO constructed a temporary store location on Oak Street, complete with fixtures from the original store to allow for continued business throughout construction.
